Read as Zilu being afraid to learn new things, as if he disliked learning.

“前所闻者既未及行，故恐复有所闻而行之不给也” — what he had heard before was not yet carried out, so he feared hearing more and not having time to carry it out (ji 给 read jǐ: to be in time).

Fan Zuyu: “子路闻善，勇于必行，门人自以为弗及也，故著之。若子路，可谓能用其勇矣” — when Zilu heard of good he was bold to carry it out; his fellow disciples felt they could not match him, so they recorded it; one like Zilu may be said to use his courage well.
读How Yikonglu reads it
What he feared was not learning more, but the last thing not yet done. His fellow students recorded it because they felt they fell short. Today: one course not yet practised through, so don't sign up for the next.
